Last weekend while attending a workshop, one of the keynote speakers delivered a speech. In fact, he had an entire day to deliver his program and he did.
You know where I'm going with this, this speaker started speaking at 9:00am, we broke for lunch for one hour, we returned for another four hours. Through it all, not once did this speaker provide time for any of the 150 people to ask one single question.
Being a professional speaker I understood why the attendees were restless, interaction between the speaker and the attendees was required. At one point this quote, unquote speaker had all 150 speakers stand up to do exercises.
Trust me, attendees did not sign up to do exercises. Remember, whenever you give a speech no matter how many people are attending, allow for a few questions because it will allow the paying customers to ask some of the questions they want answered.
Do what the speaker I experienced did and your speaker career will end with a wimper. Any questions you have pertaining to professional speaking or publishing, contact me.

Living on Higher Ground, Defined
After a recent speaking engagement an audience member asked me to define what Living on Higher Ground means. Great question to say the least.
Living on Higher Ground is defined as success consciousness. In other words, until you come into alignment with the gifts you received at birth, likelihood is you will not live your best life possible.
To define the question for the audience members even better, I told them to think about the time they were awaken by their parents on a Christmas morning. Your parents bought you gifts, not just any gift but a bike.
I asked people in the audience how they felt after seeing their first bike? Most people answered by stating, "It felt great!."
Success consciousness gives you the same feeling after achieving success in life. The only difference is you make a difference to live with success consciousness on a daily basis, it becomes a way of life.
Living on Higher Ground consists of a new way of thinking about your life. How you think about things in life is more important than the external forces that attempt to tear away at you.
Embrace your success consciousness and you will live on higher ground. Start today!

Being A Difference Maker
I am blessed to be able to perform in my capacity as a professional speaker. In fact, one of the greatest rewards for me as a professional speaker is resonating with my audiences. That's not all, I get an opportunity to meet outstanding people such as Chief Master Sargeant (CMSgt) Bob Vasquez. He is a character expert, meaning he works with cadets at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) to teach them the importance of having good character.
Good character propels cadets to become strong leaders in the future. I spoke for three consecutive days at the USAFA and delivered three speeches in as many days.
I am a leadership and diversity expert who works with organizations to lead them to achieve peak performance and improve their bottom line. One could say Chief Vasquez and I are difference makers and you would be correct.
You should strive to be a difference maker in the lives of others as well. I will see you at the top.

Delivering at the 14th Annual, NCLS at the USAFA

It was a blessing to be selected to speak to some of America's up and coming leaders. After discovering the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) hosts a National Character and Leadership Symposium, I had to participate.
I deliverd three different diversity programs in three consecutive days. They are listed as follows: Diversity - Inclusion Improves Your Organization's Bottom Line; Diversity Team-Building; and Diversity Skill-Building program to the cadets and other visiting attendees from around the world.
The theme for the 14th Annual NCLS was: All Created Equal - Human Dignity & Respect. This event included the 4,300 cadets, cadets from visiting campuses around the U.S., Korea, Japan, and Switzerland. Not only did I learn from the other speakers, I also learned from the cadets as well.
One of the VIP's was none other than Alberto Gonzales, Justice Department and 35 other speakers from various organizations and companies. We did our best to impress upon the cadets that as leaders they will be called upon to effectively manage a diverse workforce and they will make a world of difference if they succeed.
I encourage you to dig deeper into your understanding of diversity because diversity is an inside job. Contact me if you have questions about diversity and how it can improve your organization's bottom line.
